On Thursday 27 January 2022 the Pastificio Cerere Foundation presents La prima madre (The first mother), a solo exhibition by the artist Sara Basta curated by Cecilia Canziani and Costanza Meli.
The exhibition, which extends across the spaces of the silos and the underground of the mill, both obtained from the restoration of the old Pastificio Cerere, will be open to the public from Friday 28 January to Saturday 26 March 2022.
Sara Basta works on relationships, investigating the themes of education and co-creation, language and memory, in a continuous passage between the personal and the collective. Through the sharing of experiences linked to a common "doing", she questions hierarchies and roles.
La prima madre is conceived as a pathway through her most recent research. A corpus of works created in the last two years that gives back an emotional map drawn by the artist's time: starting from the present time, experienced and broken down in its repetitiveness, to the time of remembrance, of research into family memory, and the cyclical relationship between birth and death...
